When I was younger, working hard for my grades and being overly busy always had an impact in the long run. I become emotionally and physically drained due to all the effort and determination I put into either a subject or activity.
That’s why managing stress is KEY and don’t worry it isn’t as difficult as it sounds!
1. Aim to be more positive
It is said that focusing on the positive will benefit your mental well-being. Banish the negative thoughts and peruse in the positive way of thinking. Try to wake up and look for the positive, even through the hardest times. People say positive people are happy but I, personally think happiness shouldn’t be forced it should come natural. If you aren’t happy in this occasion that’s okay.. but try to look on the brighter side. The more you accept that things won’t always go your way , the less you let little things get to you. SO BREATH.. RELAX don’t sweat it!
2. Make more time for yourself and activities you enjoy.
What do you enjoy? Simples question yes.. but very effective. What are you good at? Find out your Passion. It’s important to make time for yourself in stressful situations. Set aside an hour or 2 just to relax.. You mentally and physically need that inner peace time because without it you’ll break. Whether it’s catching up on your favourite book, watching an action film or chick flick. YOU NEED TIME FOR YOURSELF
I personally use this strategy to relieve me of my stresses. Take the time to become more in touch with your spiritual side and I’m sure you’ll feel less overwhelmed and less stressed. Remember stop, drop and roll when there’s a fire this comes into account . Whenever upset or stressed STOP what your doing and say a simple prayer. DROP the fakeness and be real with God. ROLL relax knowing that your in the saviours hands.
Prayer is likely to put both your mind and body at ease and reduce your stress in no time. Like people say God will never give you more than you can handle.
4. Get some rest
It’s suggested that 8 hours of sleep a night is recommended for teenagers. In a hectic schedule that sometimes may not be the case. You need to nap in order to relieve the stresses from your head. Sleeping sounds simple enough right? Trust me you’ll awake feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Exercise = being helpful in managing stress. Next time you’re feeling stressed go for a run/jog around the block or have a quick Pilates workout by blogilates 5 Minute Flat Abs! in the comfort of your own home. Physical activity releases endorphins which instantly puts you in a better mood. Who would of thought?
We all get stressed sometimes but it’s essential to overcome this obstacle in a positive way. These simple and effective tips are bound to change your lifestyle and routine when it comes to stress. Managing stress doesn’t have to be hard. As you can see, it can be as simple as getting exercise or trying some new yoga poses!
